Tada! fini le 23 juin

Enfin fini apres plus de 300 heures de dur labeur (depuis debut novembre); un gros soulagement, au point de ne pas vouloir y penser toute cette semaine et de mettre a jour le blog seulement aujourd'hui! 

Finally finished after more than 300 hours of hard work; I was so relieved that I didn't want to think about it for a week! That's why I updated the blog today only...

Mardi 19 avril, j'ai enfin termine le rouge de la partie A. Deja 40 heures sur cette partie, il reste les contours en noir et blanc et tout le blanc. 

Tuesday, April 19th I finished the red for part A. I've already worked 40 hours on this part; remains black and white around the 4 pictures and all the white.

John Wood

Mercredi 9 mars, j'ai eu la chance et l'honneur de rencontrer John Wood, le fondateur de Room to Read et de lui parler de mon puzzle. Il a adore, c'est un fan de Keith Haring!

On Wednesday, March 9th, I had the honour to meet John Wood, the founder of Room to Read and to talk about my puzzle. He said he loved it because he is a fan of Keith Haring!

Grace a Jean-Pierre, les 3 premieres parties ont ete accrochees avant les vacances, mi-mars.

Thanks to Jean-Pierre, the first 3 parts went on the frame before the holidays mid-march. 

Part E finally finished! Partie E enfin terminee

Part E had stayed at school over the holidays and I finally finished the white this afternoon. The glue is already on, and I will add the adhesive PVC paper at the back. And that's it, I am halfway there!
La partie E etait restee a l'ecole pendant les vacances et je l'ai enfin terminee cette apres-midi. J'ai deja mis la colle, il reste a mettre le papier adhesif au dos. Et ca y est, j'en suis a la moitie!

petite histoire du bleu / what happened with the blue

J'avais decide de faire ensuite le bleu mais je me suis vite rendu compte que je n'arriverais pas a faire le chien suffisamment vite car je n'avais pas de contour. J'ai donc abandonne le bleu apres les vagues et le fond bleu derriere le bonhomme vert (4h30 environ)pour commencer l'orange et me debarrasser de quelques pieces faciles du bonhomme ci-dessus. J'ai pu ensuite faire tout le fond orange (7 heures au total), ce qui m'a ensuite donne les contours du chien bleu. 

I had decided to carry on with the blue but I realised quickly that I would never mange to assemble the dog efficiently enough because I didn't have the outlines. I thus gave up on the blue after the waves and the background behind the green man (around 4h30) to start the orange and get rid of the easy pieces of the man above. Afterwards I managed to finish the orange (7 hours in total), which gave me the outlines of the dog.

Premieres etapes de la 4eme partie: 2heures pour trier le sachet, 40 minutes pour le rose, 2h45 pour le jaune et au moins 4 heures pour le vert...

First steps of the 4th section: 2 hours to sort out the bag, 40 minutes for the pink, 2h45 for the yellow and at least 4 hours for the green...

I am not very good at updating the blog but this 3rd section was actually finished on February 15th. Unfortunately after another gastro this week, the 4th part is not making any progress. Just looking at the mass of blue pieces gives me nausea and headaches!! It's going to be hard to finish by June! Fingers crossed.

Je ne suis pas tres bonne pour mettre a jour le blog mais cette 3eme partie etait terminee le 15 fevrier. Malheureusement apres une autre gastro cette semaine, la 4eme partie n'avance pas d'un poil. Rien que regarder la maree de pieces bleues me donne la nausee et des maux de tete!! Ca ne va pas etre facile de finir d'ci le mois de juin! On croise les doigts.

Collage des deux premieres sections

Hier soir, j'ai colle les deux premieres sections. J'ai vide une bouteille complete mais apres verification ce matin, certaines parties ne sont pas collees les unes aux autres et certaines sont collees a la plaque du dessous! Gros probleme, je vais devoir essayer de decoller le dessous pour pouvoir le retourner et mettre des feuilles adhesives derriere. Je ne vais pas prendre le risque de le considerer pret et de le voir s'ecrouler une fois mis sur le cadre! A suivre...
Last night, I glued the first two sections. I used a full bottle of glue and unfortunately this morning, I realised that some parts were not sticking to each other and others parts were sticking to the board underneath! Big problem, I am now going to try to peel the puzzle off the board to be able to flip it over and put some adhesive sheets at the back. I am too scared to consider it done and see it scramble to the floor once I put it in the frame! To be continued...

Premiere partie finie grace a la deuxieme

Mi-decembre, j'avais fini la premiere partie a part 2 lignes verticales de blanc au milieu que j'avais recommencees plusieurs fois. Bizarrement, j'ai reussi du premier coup a finir le blanc de la deuxieme partie donc j'ai copie piece par piece ces 2 bandes qui manquaient. (car souvenez-vous que les decoupes sont les memes dans chaque partie et dans les images de gauche et de droite).

Mid-December, I had finished the first section apart from 2 vertical lines of white that I had to undo and tried to redo a couple of times. Funny enough, I managed to do it in one go on the second section, therefore I copied piece by piece those 2 missing lines. (cos remember the pieces have the same shape from one section to another and also left and right pictures).

J'ai oublie de prendre l'orange en photo (qui a ete fait avant le blanc). Cette deuxieme partie aura pris presque deux fois moins de temps que la premiere. Apres 110 heures, les yeux sont bien entraines et je pense avoir le coup de main pour organiser les pieces sur le tapis. 

I forgot to take a picture of the orange bit, which was done before the white. This second section took me almost half the time I had spent on the first one, I think I have got the knack now to lay out the pieces on the mat, and after 110 hours, I am starting to get used to it!
